Everyone, everywhere is talking about Facebook, Twitter, Linked In, Four Square………..but see before you listen to the person who says “our business/service/brand needs to be on Facebook/Twitter/??? consider the following:
1. Do you have the time to devote to keeping it up to date?
It takes seconds to setup a profile but do you have the time to upkeep it. An out of date profile is worse for your reputation than none at all.
2. Do you have anything interesting to contribute?
Your posts are going to sit alongside your followers updates from friends and family, are they really going to be interested in your latest bit of news which barely interested raised an eyebrow in the office?
3. What are you trying to achieve?
It might be nice for your ego if your business has 500 followers but in reality it would be better having just two who were potential customers.
